Lock Down: Whatsapp Reduces Status Duration
India: With announcement of Complete lock down by Central Government Of India to prevent Covid-19 spread caused a huge increase in internet usage. Watching videos and the usage of social media has increased. Using WhatsApp for messaging and video calling has increased so some updates have made to the app.
Traffic has increased on WhatsApp servers. So the servers are facing down issues. However, WhatsApp developers have taken steps to reduce traffic to make the server more efficient. One of the whatsapps feature has now been reduced. The duration of whatsapp status was 30 seconds Now it has been halfed. Duration of whatsapp status is 15 seconds for a short period. WhatsApp is one of the most used messaging apk in india.
